TeamSnap & Positive Coaching Alliance Want to Thank Your Coach!
It has been said that a good coach can change a game, but a great coach can change a life. Perhaps your child has been blessed with coaches who believed in more than wins and losses, who helped them grow in character and develop as a player.
If so, TeamSnap and the Positive Coaching Alliance have partnered up to give out the Double-Goal Coaches Award, giving you a great opportunity to say thank-you to all the coaches, administrators, and team parents who contribute to the success of your team.
The Double-Goal Coach Award, now in its 20th year, is one of the highest honors a U.S. youth sports coach can receive. Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA), a national non-profit developing “Better Athletes, Better People,” works to provide all youth and high school athletes a positive, character-building youth sports experience. The Double-Goal Coach Award honors coaches who pursue both wins and the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports.
NOW through November 30th 2020, you can nominate a deserving coach who has at least 3 years’ experience and coaches at a school, club, rec team or sports program. 100 Regional Winners will be named in February 2021. 25 National Winners will be named in March 2021, and will each receive $500 and recognition on PCA’s website, newsletters, on social media, and in local and national media outlets.
One coach will be named the PCA National Coach of The Year and win the $10,000 Taube Family Prize in Recognition of Excellence in Coaching. ($2,500 to the coach and $7,500 to the youth sports organization or school of their choice.) Thanks to Taube Philanthropies for their generosity in supporting this program!
Coaches have an incredible impact on the lives of athletes. It’s not unusual for them to become parent figures and mentors to their athletes. Because coaches have such a powerful influence on children, it’s important to recognize the great coaches and recognize their positive example.
Does your child’s coach focus on winning AND teaching kids life lessons through sports? Do they teach good sportsmanship, care about each player as a person and show them how to learn from their mistakes? If so, they are the type of coach that we want to hear about!
