TeamSnap Impact Event Recap: MSYSA “Let’s Play Initiative” Afterschool

On May 31st, TeamSnap Impact spent the day at Maryland State Youth Soccer Association “Let’s Play Initiative” Afterschool program. The day was spent playing lots of soccer as well as engaging with the kids served. MSYSA is an organization doing way more than just teaching soccer skills. This organization, through it’s “Let’s Play Initiative” is designed to transform the lives of participants while positively impacting underserved communities. The program focuses on safe, character building, community supported program helps to teach social and emotional skills while fighting obesity and related illnesses.

MSYSA is attempting to build and foster a community that develops well rounded children with additional supports around SEL (social, emotional, learning). Many of the kids are dealing with mental health issues based on their home situations, so this soccer program takes on an even higher level of significance for them. TeamSnap is proud to support this type of program as we understand that the importance of sports can extend beyond the playing field.
