What is a Crow Hop?

A crow hop is executed with the back leg hopping in front of the front leg. It is intended to gather the momentum behind an outfielder's throw. In the case of a right-handed thrower, this athlete will field a ground ball outside of his left leg (glove side). A proper crow hop will entail his right leg hopping in front of his left leg. Allow an outfielder to take one or two steps before executing the crow hop.
