On February 21, 2024, Harlem Lacrosse hosted its Black History Month classic where over 100 participants came together to compete in a one day tournament.
Each team represented an historically black college or university that they had done research on in honor of black history month. Six TeamSnap employees donated their time to serve as referees and guest coaches. They also spent time speaking to the kids about careers in sports tech.
Harlem Lacrosse is a recipient of TeamSnap Impact funding. Through our larger partnership with the Beyond Sport Foundation, we were introduced to Harlem Lacrosse.
>Harlem Lacrosse, Boston, launched in the fall of 2016 and uses the sport of lacrosse as the foundation for its year round enrichment, youth development, and academic support programs. Through their partnerships with Boston Public Schools, they are able to place a male and female full time Program Director at each site. Programs operate through all four seasons, culminating in a robust summer curriculum that includes club lacrosse, day camp, and overnight experiences. They currently have 350 boys and girls participating across Mattapan, Dorchester, and East Boston from 5th grade all the way through seniors in high school.
